Humanising Quiet is the interweaving of environmental sustainability, human wellness and safety into every project we take on, in our global vision to create more productive and conducive, working and living spaces for humans.
Our vision
Our purpose is to actively support a sustainable built environment for the planet and its people.
Our mission
Create long term value for our planet, its people and business through robust Environmental Social Governance (ESG), actively operating for a circular economy and setting holistic sustainable development goals that support the built environment and textile manufacturing value chain.
Assessed against International Standards of ISO 14001 and ISO 9001, our manufacturing processes deliver quality, high-level service and products, while reducing our impact.
The use of solar panels attached to our key factory locations also means that your favorite acoustic products, including our FilaSorb™ felt and QuietBack™ carpet tiles, are generated using around 30-40% onsite renewables – powered by the sun.
To deliver on our mission, 2023 will mark the commencement of our third-party carbon footprint audit, conducted across all areas of the global business. This will help us to set goals for the future, measure and benchmark effectively.
A minimum of 60% recycled PET is used in our FilaSorb™ panels, and a minimum of 80% is used in the backing of our QuietBack™ carpet tiles. The recycled PET is sourced from bottles that would normally go to landfill, closing the loop on a valuable resource.
Acoufelt’s QuietBack™ carpet tiles and FilaSorb™ collections are all made from post consumer recycled plastic drink bottles, diverted from landfill.
The discarded drink bottles are cleaned and cut into flakes before being melted and extruded into fibers of natural white color.
The regenerated fibers are clean and odorless like virgin fibers.
The regenerated fibers are then colored or printed and used to construct brand new products like carpet tiles, panels and baffles.

The face pile layer of our BarrierBack™ carpet tiles are made with ECONYL® regenerated nylon fibres.
ECONYL® fibres are sourced from waste such as fishing nets, fabric, carpet flooring and other industrial plastics, which is rescued from seas and landfill, and then regenerated into carpet and textile yarn of original purity.

We know material safety and transparency is important for green building teams, so we are working on supplying environmental labels by way of Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) for our most popular products. Moreover, we’re seeking to achieve additional third-party verification for our Declare Red List Free labels.
You can learn more about each of our material safety accreditations below.
Declare® provides a free and simple database and transparency labels, to help project teams choose the healthiest products on the market and meet the stringent materials requirements of the Living Building Challenge® (LBC), the world’s most rigorous building performance standard.
The LBC Red List represents the “worst in class” substances, prevalent in the building products industry, known to pose serious risks to human health and the greater ecosystem. These substances should be phased out of production due to human and/or environmental health and toxicity concerns.
Acoufelt QuietBack™ carpet tiles, WoodBeQuiet™ planks and FilaSorb™ collections have received “LBC Red List Free” declaration status – having disclosed 100% of product ingredients at or above 100 ppm (0.01%) in the final product and not containing any Red List chemicals. They have been shown to meet the requirements of the Living Building Challenge (LBC) Red List and Healthy Interior Performance Imperatives.
Moreover, we’ve used a third-party assessor to verify the accuracy of our Declare label claims for our QuietBack™ carpet tiles and FilaSorb™ panels. As of current, these are the only Australian-registered third party verified (3PV) Declare labels in the entire market.
The Living Future Institute Australia (LFIA) is part of a global movement that is revolutionising the built environment. As an Affiliate of the International Living Future Institute (ILFI), the LFIA is guiding the Australian industry towards regenerative design through programs such as the Living Building Challenge® (LBC) and Declare®. Through this membership and our Declare product certifications, Acoufelt is proudly committed to growing knowledge and engaging in programs that are redefining the green building movement.
SCS is an international leader in third-party certification and standards development in environmental, sustainability and quality performance. Our customers can be assured that products labelled with the SCS certification marks are consistently meeting the performance requirements of this standard.
Acoufelt FilaSorb™ products receive Indoor Advantage Gold certification for Indoor Air Quality. The Indoor Advantage and Indoor Advantage Gold standard aligns with both ANSI/BIFMA M7 and X7.1, and CA 01350. It is recognised by the EPA and GSA, and qualifies for many building rating systems, including LEED v4, BREEAM, WELL Building and Living Building Challenge.
FilaSorb™ products achieve Indoor Advantage Gold certification through meeting the high standard for California Department of Public Health (CDPH) compliance, determined by comparing the calculated emission concentration or emission factor to the applicable Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) emission criteria.
CRI’s Green Label program tests carpet, cushions and adhesives to help specifiers identify products with low Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) emissions. The CRI Green Label Plus logo indicates a product has been tested and certified by an independent laboratory, and has met stringent criteria for low emissions. Every Acoufelt carpet tile meets the strict requirements for Green Label Plus certification under Indoor Air Quality Testing.
Acoufelt have been supplying quality acoustic products to Carpet Court stores since its beginnings in 2017.
From what started as a three-person operation based out of a small warehouse in Adelaide, South Australia, Acoufelt has experienced staggering growth, now boasting over 100 employees across Australia, the USA and the UK, and a wide network of global distributors. We are lucky to have felt the unwavering support of Carpet Court from the very start.
Whilst Acoufelt’s acoustic carpet tiles have been a primary focus for Carpet Court stores, in 2018, Acoufelt launched an entirely unique collection of ‘WoodBeQuiet™’ acoustic planks for the wall and ceiling. WoodBeQuiet™ planks are printed to appear like real wood planks – but, unlike real wood – achieve an NRC of 0.45, and are comprised of minimum 60% recycled content. Despite being outside the traditional flooring category, the product was well received by Carpet Court stores, with some members opting to install the product in-store.
In 2020, Acoufelt teamed up with Carpet Court HQ to produce an exclusive range of ‘QuickDrop™ DIY’ carpet tiles for seamless and easy installation. The special gripping construction of the QuickDrop™ layer enables tiles to be laid without adhesive, floor sealers, glue or taping. Tapping into the booming DIY market, QuickDrop™ collections ‘Delta’ and ‘Outlook’ have since been featured in a number of projects across Australia, thanks to Carpet Court stores.
Acoufelt once again looks forward to exhibiting at the Carpet Court annual members conference in Darwin this year.
LandLines QuietBack™ carpet tiles offer a textural, lineal design taken from the natural undulations and raw tones of the land. Rich deep blues and blacks punctuate the more subtle earthen base of silvers and neutral beiges, resulting in eight unique colorways. The ‘imperfectly perfect’ pattern that we overwhelmingly associate with the terrain of the natural world is recreated here, designed specifically for a seamless lay.
The resulting aesthetic is authentically organic and inherently calming. Better yet, LandLines acoustic QuietBack™ carpet tiles boast an NRC of 0.35 and are comprised of a minimum 80% recycled content in the backing layer.
